The Gralloch - UCI cycling in Galloway

It all started with Raiders Gravel Festival. Warren and I invited what is now RedOn Events to Gatehouse of Fleet in bonnie Galloway. A series of unique routes through the Galloway Forest Park to promote this region as a cycling destination. To cut a long story short, a second event was developed that is, since 2024, on the calendar for the UCI World Gravel Series: The Gralloch. It is a hard, gruelling and relentless race. Look up what “to gralloch” means and this is how any rider feels at the end. The winner gets a set of antlers from our friend and collaborator Rupert from Gledpark.

I had this idea of a poster since Raiders Gravel. The spirit of deer and stag, your own challenges to overcome the chase and tiredness, the beauty that is Galloway.

So, this is my interpretation. Starting with a black and white linocut and then adding the colour.
